Observing Bees Across Canada
Welcome to our Plan Bee Community Science page! Keep scrolling to learn more about the work we are doing across Canada to protect and promote our native bees and pollinators. The goal of our project is to learn more about the native flowers bumble bees, specifically at-risk species, and other native pollinators are using through community science. Our main objectives are to gain an understanding of 1) the critical food resources needed for survival by at-risk bumble bees, 2) the current local occurrences of these bee species, 3) the stewardship capacity to protect these listed species and their ecosystem services, and 4) to increase community engagement and knowledge about bees and pollinators. Anyone can participate in our Plan Bee Community Science project. By monitoring pollinators in your local community, you can help contribute to important plant-pollinator interaction and species data across the Canadian provinces and territories. All you have to do is get outside, take pictures of the pollinators you are seeing, and upload them to our iNaturalist project page.
