Development and Communications Associate: Full-Time Position

Pollinator Partnership Canada (P2C) is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate associate to join our team and promote P2C’s programs to audiences across Canada. In this role you will work with our team to enact marketing plans that increase our brand identity, support membership, and engage the public and donors. The successful candidate should be a detailed-oriented professional with well-developed organization and time-management skills, be a creative thinker, have a talent for verbal and visual communication, and be committed to the mission and values of P2C. A stand-out candidate would have the ability to create engaging content and communicate with partners in French and English. This staff will report directly to the Executive Director.

Principal Responsibilities:

50% Development and Engagement

  • Support the P2C team in maintaining donor, partner, and member relationships, including the coordination of Bee City Canada member renewals.
  • Support the organization’s development and fundraising plans, including sponsorship plans, outreach materials, and engagement campaigns.
  • Support fundraising efforts, including the annual appeal, through newsletters, solicitations, and media campaigns.

50% Communications and Marketing

  • Uphold branding and marketing themes to project a cohesive identify for the organization.
  • Work with the P2C team to develop and schedule the annual outreach program, keeping alignment with public trends and hot topics.
  • Run social platforms, and create content and messaging for digital, print, and social media campaigns.
  • Work with the P2C team to create organizational and program-specific newsletters and mailings.
  • Support updates and additions to the P2C website.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and in teams using a digitally connected network model.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop engaging content for a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong digital and creative skills, including workplace applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and design applications such as Adobe design suite, InDesign, Canva, Craft, etc.
  • Certificate or degree in a relevant field such as communications, marketing, nonprofit management, business administration, science communication, journalism, social science, or other relevant fields.
  • P2C works to support pollinators across Canada and aims to provide engagement opportunities to Anglophone and Francophone audiences. French language skills are an asset to our activities.
  • Location: Remote, Canada wide. P2C has staff across Canada, including in Toronto, ON, Guelph, ON, Peterborough, ON, Victoria, BC, and Yellowknife, NT. Candidates located in cities where we have staff, as well as those that would expand our geographic reach are considered equally.

Schedule, Compensation, and Benefits: Full-time, salaried, scheduled to work ~35 hours/week. Salary of $42,000 and benefits including health plan, retirement plan, employee wellness programming, and a flexible work environment with people that love pollinators.

Anticipated Start Date: Early 2026

Yellowknife

Location: Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada (Hybrid)
Compensation: $20/hour
Start Date: June 22, 2026
Duration: 12 weeks (35 hours/week)

Working in the role of Yellowknife Education and Outreach Coordinator, the selected candidate will support our Habitat Stewardship Program work, outreach and education, and conservation efforts in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. The selected candidate will have opportunities for collaborative virtual and in-person work with Pollinator Partnership Canada staff.

Key tasks include:

  • Monitoring and recording plant-pollinator interactions, specifically with bumble bees, around the city of Yellowknife over the summer months and uploading observations to iNaturalist as part of our HSP project Plan Bee North.
  • Collecting seed from target native plant species to increase pollinator habitat through our HSP project Wingspan Yellowknife
  • Helping with outreach and education, and working with community members during seed collection training workshops 
  • Creating pollinator outreach materials and resources in collaboration with Indigenous communities to raise awareness about the relationships between bees, pollinators, native plants, and the land.

Victoria (Esquimalt)

Location: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada (Hybrid)

Pollinators are essential to local food security, healthy ecosystems, and cultural well-being. On southern Vancouver Island, native bees and other pollinators are facing continued habitat loss and climate-driven pressures. Pollinator Partnership Canada is working with community partners to safeguard pollinators and support the communities who depend on them.

This position will help advance a project focused on restoring and studying pollinator habitat, including species at risk such as the western bumble bee. The student will work closely with Satinflower Nurseries and Pollinator Partnership Canada to support sustainable local food systems, strengthen community ecological knowledge, and contribute to the vitality of local not-for-profit efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in restoration activities that support pollinator habitat and local food security, including planting, watering, seed collection, and plot maintenance
• Support data collection for plant pollinator interaction studies that inform regional conservation actions
• Assist with native seed processing and nursery work that increases access to culturally and ecologically meaningful native plants
• Contribute to outreach events and educational resources that build community awareness of pollinators and local ecosystems
• Engage with community-based initiatives that connect pollinator health to food security, gardens, and cultural knowledge
• Provide general support to a nonprofit organization including communications, data organization, and coordination with partners

Toronto (Etobicoke)

Working in the role of  Education and Outreach Coordinator the successful candidate will provide program support and assist in the development of outreach and educational resources and materials for our collaborative initiative between Bee City Canada and Bees for Peace that focuses on engaging civil society and in particular faith-based communities, in conservation actions.

Key tasks will include:

  • Assisting with the development of resources for program faith-based and community audiences focusing on native pollinators, native plants, and local ecosystems.
  • Providing program support to Bee City Canada and Bees for Peace.
  • Assisting with communication to faith-based communities interested in developing pollinator gardens and pollinator habitats.
  • Assisting with faith-based summer camp and club programming to provide activities supporting pollinator conservation education.
  • Supporting the creation of social media content for communications and awareness campaigns.
  • Supporting Pollinator Week activities, with the possibility of in-person event hosting.

Duties will occur as a mix of independent work remote work, collaborative remote work, and collaborative in-person work. Work at Pollinator Partnership Canada is largely remote, with opportunities for on-site activities during outreach events and some field research visits. The Education Outreach Coordinator will be supervised by the Bee City Canada Manager and Bees for Peace Director. Mentorship and skills development will be provided by the Executive Director.
