Plan Bee is coming to Vancouver Island!
Plan Bee, Pollinator Partnership Canada's community science program, is coming to Vancouver Island!
Our goal: to collect information on the relationships pollinators have with plants in and around Vancouver Island. With every photo you share, we can collect real data that helps determine which plants are most important to particular pollinators, such as bees, butterflies, birds, moths, wasps, and beetles, across the Island, and how climate change is affecting each species. Ultimately, this brings us closer to understanding and caring for the species and habitats that need us most.
Participating in Plan Bee couldn’t be easier! To start taking part in Plan Bee Vancouver Island, simply:
- Download the iNaturalist app through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Create a free account
- Join the Vancouver Island Plan Bee Community Science Project
- Start snapping pictures of any kind of pollinators you see, and share them with the community!
Whether it's during your weekend stroll, in your garden, or on your favourite trail, every picture shared to the Plan Bee Vancouver Island page helps us to better understand the plant-pollinator interactions on the island. The more information we have, the better we can understand what we can do to ensure that pollinators are continue to thrive, and that their habitats remain intact and protected.
